THE GAME
- Syracuse plays Virginia for the second time this year in the penultimate game of the 2022 season on Saturday.
- The game will be broadcast on ESPNU with Drew Carter '19 (PxP) and Paul Carcaterra '97 (analyst) on the call. Brian Higgins '04 (PxP) and Kyle Fetterly '09 (analyst) will broadcast the action on TK99/105, Cuse.com, The Varsity App and the TuneIn App, while WAER will also carry the game.

THE VIRGINIA SERIES
- Syracuse and UVA square off for the second of two times this season and 40th time in total.
- Syracuse swept the two meetings last year to break a tie, and now own the all-time series lead 20-18.
- The last three game differentials (10, 2, 9) have been outliers in a series that both teams having scored nearly an identical number of goals. Heading into this season's matchup Orange have now scored 510 goals, UVA has netted 507.
-The game has been decided by one goal on 17 occasions - including five of the last-eight meetings. Seven of those one-goal games went to overtime.
- Bobby Gavin spent last season at a member of the Cavaliers NCAA title squad, playing in eight games before transferring to Syracuse this winter.

RECORD LIST WATCH
- Syracuse has a number of players climbing single-season and career record lists at SU.
- Midfielder Brendan Curry (90) enters Saturday's game tied with Ron Hill for eighth on the career midfielder goals list at 'Cuse. He's three away from tying his dad, Todd (93) for seventh. Jamie Trimboli (95) and Charlie Lockwood (97) are also in reach.
- Jakob Phaup enters the game with the ninth most (202) faceoff wins and attempts (348). His 927 career attempts is third, as is his 547 career wins. His 100 GBs is sixth, three behind Gary Gait (93/1989) for fifth in a season.
- Tucker Dordevic has 42 goals on the season, which is currently tied for 19th on the single-season list. The list is very tightly packed though. Seven more goals this year (which would be his season average over two games) would finish the 14 game regular season eighth. It would also be tied for the fewest games played by any of the players in the top-10.
- Defenseman Brett Kennedy (58) needs three more caused turnovers to tie Joel White (61) for fourth on the career caused turnover list at SU.

PINCH AND PHAUP
- Jakob Phaup enters Saturday's game ranked eighth nationally in ground balls per game (8.33) after being one of the top-faceoff men in the nation through the first half of the season.
- He is one of the nation's most experienced faceoff men as well. His 927 faceoffs taken represents the 11th-most nationally among active players, while his 547 wins is ninth.
- Only Petey LaSalla (1,178) and Zach Tucci (968) have more career attempts in the ACC.
- He has won .580 percent of his faceoffs thus far in 2022, a mark that ranks 11th nationally. He and 'Cuse have won more faceoffs than their opponent in nine of the first-12 games.
