
Volleyball Set To Compete In UCF Challenge

ORLANDO, Fla. - Syracuse Volleyball is set to compete in the UCF Challenge, which runs from Thursday, Sept. 1st through Saturday, Sept. 3rd.
The Orange will face three opponents, spread out over just as many days.
On Thursday the team will face Kansas State (4:00 p.m., FloSports), followed by UCF (7:00 p.m., ESPN+) in their season opener on Friday night, and concludes with a face-off against North Florida (2:00 p.m., FloSports) on Saturday afternoon. All games will take place inside The Venue on the campus of UCF.
'Cuse will play both UCF and North Florida for the first time ever in program history, while this will be the fourth meeting against Kansas St.
The Knights received 10 first-place votes in the American Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll. UCF returns McKenna Melville who is a preseason all-conference team selection.
The Ospreys are coming off a win against East Tennessee State, which was won in three straight sets. Mahalia White leads North Florida in kills with 48.
Kansas State leads the series with a 2-1 edge over the Orange. The most recent meeting was on September 1st, 2017, where Syracuse won in four sets (3-1). For the first time since 2013, the Wildcats are off to a 3-0 start this season and currently Lead the Big 12 in blocks per set (3.15) and service aces (23).
Going into this week Polina Shemanova Sits fifth in all-time career kills with 1,493, to reach the top spot in program history Shemanova only needs to record 196 additional kills.
