Syracuse plays the first of two straight games in North Carolina when it faces NC State on Thursday night in Raleigh.

After tangling with the Wolfpack, the Orange have a date with #3 North Carolina on Sunday, Oct. 22, in Chapel Hill.

The Syracuse-NC StateSeries:
The Orange and the Wolfpack have met seven times in a series that began in 2013. Syracuse won that first outing, 2-1. NC State has a 4-2-1 advantage in the all-time series.

A season ago, Syracuse and NC State played to a 1-1- draw.

Syracuse Status:
The Orange (2-11-2, 0-6-1) hope to rebound from a Sunday loss to #17 Pittsburgh at the SU Soccer Stadium.

Redshirt sophomore Erin Flurey has a squad-best five goals and three assists. Sophomore goalkeeper Shea Vanderbosch tops the ACC in saves (108) and saves average (7.2).

NC State Status:
The Wolfpack enter the match after a 0-0 draw at Miami. Four of their seven losses came against teams currently ranked in the Top 25.

Senior Alexis Strickland (4 goals) and senior Jameese Joseph (3 goals, 1 assist) lead the NC State attack. Junior goalkeeper Olivia Pratapas is second in the ACC in saves per game (4.58).

Notable Notes:

Vanderbosch has accumulated 108 saves this fall. It's the second-best mark in school history. She is 20 stops away from the school record set by Katie Karlander in 2000.
The Atlantic Coast Conference continues to dominate the United Soccer Coaches Poll. The ACC occupies four of the top 12 rankings and five overall in the Oct. 17 poll.
Syracuse junior Kylen Grant leads the Orange with 38 career starts, followed by senior Kate Murphy with 37.
Grace Gillard has a squad-best 33 straight starts for the Orange.
Five Syracuse performers have started all 15 matches this fall: Flurey, Gillard, Grant, Ashley Rauch and Vanderbosch.
Syracuse assistant coach Alex Zaroyan was selected for the United Soccer Coaches 30-under-30 program.
