
Five Players Score in Double Figures

Fifth-year guard Dyaisha Fair scored 28 points as Syracuse beat Central Connecticut State, 101-53, Friday night inside the JMA Wireless Dome. She led the Orange, who had six players score in double figures as Syracuse hit the century mark for the first time in the Felisha Legette-Jack era. Fair put together a dominant first half, tallying 22 of her points over the first 20 minutes of play.

Freshman forward Alyssa Latham recorded her second double-double in as many games with 11 points and 11 rebounds off the glass.

Sophomore forward Kyra Wood finished with 15 points and five rebounds going a perfect 6-for-6 from the field, while freshman guard Sophie Burrows added 13 points and 5 boards. Graduate guard Alaina Rice posted 11 points, five assists, and four rebounds to round out the double-digit scorers.

Belle Lanpher led the Blue Devils in scoring with 12 points.

The Orange posted 101 points, their most in a game since their last contest against CCSU on Dec. 5, 2021, in a 116-65 victory.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
Fair laid in a layup with 1:40 left in the opening quarter to put the Orange up, 20-15. The team went on a 28-12 run until the half, going into the break with a 48-27 advantage, never leading by less than 20 for the remainder of the contest.

'Cuse broke the game open in the third, scoring 34 points on 15-for-20 shooting.Â

Syracuse was dominant in the paint, scoring 68 of its 101 points from down low. The Orange converted 30 layups and 20 second-chance points to help coast to victory.

Latham paced the team with four offensive rebounds, with graduate transfer Izabel Varejão and junior Saniaa Wilson both grabbing three.
