
Freeman Named To Naismith Watch List

Donnie Freeman, a member of the recruiting class of 2024 who has signed a National Letter of Intent with Syracuse, is included on the preseason 50 watch list for the Jersey Mike's Naismith Boys High School Player of the Year Award.
Freeman is a 6-9, 190 forward from Washington (D.C.) and national powerhouse IMG Academy (Fla.).

He is a four-star recruit qho is ranked 38th overall and sixth among power forwards in the Class of 2024 by ESPN.com. He is 28th overall and the sixth-rated power forward by 247sports.com. Rivals.com put Freeman 51st overall and sixth among power forwards.

Prior to transferring to the prestigious IMG Academy for his senior year, Freeman spent the 2022-23 season at St. John's College High School, where he averaged 21.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. Freeman helped his squad to a 32-4 overall record and a Washington Catholic Athletic Conference Tournament championship. At St. John's, he played for Coach Patrick Behan.

Freeman played AAU basketball for Team Takeover on the Nike EYBL circuit. This past summer he helped Team Takeover to the Nike EYBL Peach Jam title. He was named first-team all-tournament after averaging 12.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
