
Orange Face First Road Test at #20 Maryland on Sunday

The first road trip of the season looms for the 3-0 Syracuse women's basketball team which travels to #20 Maryland on Sunday. Tip-off is slated for noon at the XFINITY Center in College Park, Md.
Syracuse and Maryland face off for the first time since Dec. 2, 2015 when the Terrapins won 82-64 in College Park. The Orange are 0-5 all-time against Maryland and will play for the fourth time on the road in the all-time series.
The Orange are 3-0 for the second-straight year under head coach Felisha Legette-Jack. Led by fifth-year guard Dyaisha Fair (20.3 ppg), the Orange average 85.3 points per game and has outscored opponents by an average of 38.3 points per game this season. Freshman Alyssa Latham had a double-double in Syracuse's first two games while Alaina Rice poured in 15 points and collected the team's hard had on Wednesday night against Coppin State.
Maryland is 1-2 to start the season. The Terps are averaging 74 points per game and are led by Shyanne Sellers who was named to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll this week. She averaged 23.6 points through Maryland's first two games. Maryland began the season with a 98-75 win over Harvard on Nov. 6 and has since lost back-to-back road games at No. South Carolina (114-76) and UConn (80-48). Sellers leads the team with 20.7 ppg and is shooting 45.2 percent from the field.
