Syracuse (3-2) will wrap up play in the Maui Jim Maui Invitational against Chaminade (1-4) on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 9:30 p.m. (EST).

SETTING THE STAGE
The Orange approach their third contest in as many days after conceding a loss to #11/10 Gonzaga, 76-57. The Swords began their season with a loss to Alaska Anchorage and a win against Alaska in the PacWest/GNAC Challenge. Chaminade was defeated in its most recent matchup against #24 UCLA, 76-48.

THE SYRACUSE-CHAMINADE SERIES
The only matchup between Syracuse and Chaminade had a familiar setting, in the 1998-99 Maui Jim Maui Invitational. In the contest between the two, the #22 Orange won the bout, 82-44.

LAST TIME OUT
Sophomore guards Judah Mintz (22 points) and J.J. Starling (15) combined for 37 of the squad's 57 points in a loss to #11/10 Gonzaga. Junior center Naheem McLeod was the next top scorer with seven points, and he added four blocked shots and four rebounds in the affair.Â

ORANGE LEADERS
Mintz is the squad leader in scoring, averaging 21.2 points per game. Starling (12.8 ppg.) averages a team-high 5.8 rebounds per game. Sophomore forward Maliq Brown (6.0 ppg.) tops the team with 14 steals. Sophomore guard Chris Bell (12.8 ppg.) rounds out the Orange performers averaging double digit scoring.

The Orange have a 9-2 record in the Maui Jim Maui Invitational. Syracuse captured the invite crown in all three of its previous visits in 1990, 1998 and 2013.

In the program's first appearance at the event in 1990 Syracuse defeated Toledo, Ohio State and Indiana. The Orange returned in 1998 and beat Chaminade, Michigan and Indiana. Syracuse's most recent visit was in 2013, where it won against Minnesota, California and Baylor.

SYRACUSE FANS CAN VOTE MINTZ FOR COUSY AWARD
Mintz is one of 20 watch-list candidates for the 2024 Bob Cousy Award, which is annually presented to the top point guard in Division I men's basketball. Orange followers are encouraged to participate in three rounds of Fan Voting, presented by Dell Technologies, on hoophallawards.com.

Mintz is also on the watch list for the Naismith Trophy and John R. Wooden Award. Each list in comprised of 50 student-athletes. The lists for each award will be narrowed throughout the year, and winners of the awards will be announced later in the season.
