Syracuse (6-1) hosts Northeastern (4-3) on Monday, Dec. 4 at the JMA Wireless Dome. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. on ACC Network Extra with Ian Nicholas and Kalia Butler on the call.
The Orange look to extend their nonconference home win streak to 24 when the Huskies enter the Dome on a two-game losing streak. Syracuse is coming off a 79-73 win over Alabama on Thursday night in the inaugural ACC/SEC Challenge presented by Dixie Ultra.
Alyssa Latham scored a career-high 23 points with 12 rebounds and five blocks for her third double double of the season. Fifth-year guard Dyaisha Fair had 20 points and added seven assists while fellow captain Kyra Wood had her second-straight double double with 10 points and 13 rebounds off the bench. Syracuse held Alabama to less than 30 points in the first half, it was the fifth time this season the Orange defense has done so to an opponent.
Northeastern's Derin Erdogan led the team in its 10-point loss to New Hampshire, 51-41, on Wednesday with 12 points. Asha Parker added 10 points and eight rebounds while Tirsy Queliz had nine points, two steals and a pair of assists.
Monday's game will be the third meeting between the Orange and the Huskies. The last time 'Cuse faced the Huskies was Nov. 12, 2010, when Syracuse won, 72-69. The Orange have won both of the previous two matchups.
Following Monday's contest Syracuse will travel to Athens, Ohio., to compete against Ohio on Dec. 9 at the Convocation Center. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
