Six Orange student-athletes will be recognized during Senior Day at the Syracuse ice hockey game on Saturday, Feb. 18 at Tennity Ice Pavilion. The Orange will host Stonehill in the final regular season game at 2 pm.

The skaters who will be celebrated include Mae Batherson, Lauren Bellefontaine, Arielle DeSmet, Brynn Koocher, Anna Leschyshyn, Marielle McHale. During their Syracuse careers, the Orange won the 2019 and 2022 CHA Tournament Championships and the 2022 CHA Regular Season Championship. The group also has a cumulative grade point average of 3.46.

The game will be the first between Syracuse (9-22-2 overall, 6-9-1 CHA) and Stonehill (17-14-2/14-9-1 NEWHA).

What to Watch For
Graduate student Lauren Bellefontaine continues her quest for the Syracuse career assist record. She is three shy of tying the record of 72 set by Stephanie Grossi (2014-18). Bellefontaine has 69 assists wearing the Block S, including at least one helper in seven of the last 12 games.

Bellefontaine also excels in the faceoff circle. She holds the Syracuse single-season record for faceoff win percentage with a .592 mark this year, which ranks second in the CHA.

Graduate student Arielle DeSmet's 839 saves this season ranks second on Syracuse's single-season record list. The Orange record is 946 (Lucy Schoedel, 2009-10). DeSmet also holds the third spot on the list with her 775 saves last season. DeSmet is 10th on the College Hockey America career saves record list with 2,263. She recorded 58 saves in the Orange series against Mercyhurst last weekend. She enters the matchup 29 saves shy of the ninth spot on the list

- Penalty Kill Pct: Syracuse ranks 14th in the nation and second in the CHA (.859).
