THE GAME
- It's a fast-paced week for the Orange as Syracuse hosts a pair of games at the JMA Wireless Dome this weekend, leading off with UAlbany Friday night for Student Night. Opening faceoff on ACC Network Extra is slated for 6 p.m.
- The game will be carried on ACC Network Extra with Zach Letson (PxP) and Trey Redfield (analyst) on the call. Tim Leonard (PxP) and Kyle Fetterly '09 (analyst) will broadcast the action on TK99/105, Cuse.com, The Varsity App and the TuneIn App, while WAER will also carry the game.

THE UALBANY SERIES
- Central New York meets the Capital District Friday night as the Orange and Great Danes clash for the 21 time in series history.
- Syracuse owns a 17-3 all-time record against UAlbany, dating back to a pair of meetings in 2004 (regular season and NCAA Tournament).
- Last season, the Orange made their first-ever trip to Carey Stadium, falling 14-12 in Albany. Despite the setback, Syracuse has won two of the last three meetings.
- 'Cuse opens the 2023 campaign with two America East foes, topping back-to-back champion Vermont 7-5 in the lid lifter last weekend before hosting in-state foe UAlbany Friday (6 p.m.).
- Current Syracuse student-athletes that played the last game against UAlbany: Pete Fiorini, Nick Caccamo, Jackson Birtwistle, Max Rosa, Carter Rice, Landon Clary, Nathan LeVine, Brandon Aviles, and Saam Olexo.

VERSUS THE AMERICA EAST
- Syracuse will meet a current member of the America East conference for the 40th time on Saturday.
- The Orange hold a 30-9 all-time record against the America East's current alignment, with Saturday's opponent, UAlbany, the most common foe; Syracuse is 17-3 all-time against the Great Danes.
- Binghamton is the second-most common opponent with a clean 8-0 mark.
- The 2023 campaign marks the first time since 2018 the Orange will opponent with two America East opponents. That season, Syracuse bested Binghamton 21-4 in the opener but were nipped 15-3 against #3 UAlbany the following week.
- The last season in which Syracuse did not play an America East opponent was 2003.

A WEEK OF ACTION
- Friday and Sunday marks the second and third games of the year for Syracuse, all in the first eight days of the season.
- It marks the first time since the 2013 campaign the 'Cuse has played at least three home games in an eight-day stretch.
- This weekend's slate will be the 32nd time in program history Syracuse plays at least three home games in an eight-day span.
- Last time, the Orange hosted Cornell, Rutgers and Hobart, going 2-1 in that span from April 10-April 16, 2013.
- Syracuse has gone 3-0 in such a span 15 times, and a 4-0 run on three occasions.

TO THE RAFTERS
- This spring, another Syracuse legend will have his jersey retired as Mike Powell's #22 jersey will join Gary Gait's high in the rafters of the Dome.
- The two legendary 22s are the first two men's lacrosse jerseys to hang in the Dome, while Katie Rowan's women's lacrosse jersey is with them as well.
- Powell was the first-ever two-time Tewaaraton Trophy winner, winning the honor in 2002 and 2004 after national championship seasons.
- A walking highlight reel, Powell was a four-time USILA First Team All-American, the Jack Turnbull Award winner for the attackman of the year, the 2004 Lt. Raymond Enners Award winner as the player of the year, and a two-time W.H. Brine Award winner as the NCAA Division I Championship Game Most Outstanding Player.
- The 2004 Syracuse graduate still holds the program's career points record (307), ranks sixth in career goals (150), and fourth on the career assists list (157). His 70 points as a freshman are the second-most for a first year player at Syracuse.
- Powell's jersey will reach the rafters at halftime of the March 11 game against Johns Hopkins.
