The Eastern Sprints are next up for the 10th-ranked Orange on April 30 in Worcester, M.A. Syracuse will race against four top-20 teams, including fifth-ranked Brown, 15th-ranked Radcliffe, 18th-ranked Rutgers, and 20th-ranked Columbia. Boston College, Boston University, Colgate, Cornell, Dartmouth, Drexel, Georgetown, Marist, Massachusetts, Michigan State, Northeastern, Rhode Island and Temple are also in the field of 18 schools at the regatta.
Last week, the Orange placed second in the 2023 Lake Wheeler Invitational Pocock Cup. Syracuse was just behind #14 Duke, and beat No. 8 Penn and No. 19 Iowa. Syracuse had nine first-place finishes during the two-day regatta.
The Orange varsity eight earned Atlantic Coast Conference Crew of the Week after its undefeated performance. The boat beat Penn, Duke, Iowa and four teams in the 'Also Receiving Votes' category. It is the second time this season that the Syracuse V8 has beaten Penn.
The Eastern Sprints features two racing sessions, including the morning heats and afternoon finals. The races will be streamed on Local Live TV.
