Kevin Robertson took fourth in 3,000-meter steeplechase, the lone final of Friday's track competition, at the ACC Championships.
Robertson posted a time of 8:37.35, five seconds behind Virginia's Nathan Mountain, who won the event. Robertson collected points in the process, but others set 'Cuse up to add to the total in Saturday's finals.
All-five men in the 110-meter hurdles posted their best time of the season, with three setting personal bests and 'Cuse putting three runners in the eight-man final. Jaheem Hayles was the top qualifier from SU, winning his heat in 13.47 seconds. His time was a season-best mark. Naseem Smith (14.02 seconds) and Emanuel Joseph (14.16 seconds) will both join him in the final after racing to PRs on Friday.
David Peters also set a personal best, but was 0.02 behind Joseph for the final qualifying spot and took ninth. Anthony Vazquez was 10th in a season-best 14.23 seconds.
Shaleah Colaire narrowly missed the finals in her event for the second-straight day. Her season-best time of 13.67 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles places her ninth. She also took home ninth in the 400-meter hurdles on Thursday. Kirstyn Schechter also raced in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing 17th.
Trei Thorogood posted a personal best in the 100-meter hurdles. His time of 10.46 seconds gave him 12th overall, while Daijon Richards finished 27th in 10.88 seconds. Kaleia Arrington raced to a time of 12.20 seconds in the women's race.
Alexander Segarra (1:51.76) closed the preliminary racing for the Orange with a 29th-place finish in the 800-meter run.
The Orange men are ninth with 14 points through nine of the 21 events, while the 'Cuse women have the same point total and sit in 10th. Due to forecasted inclement weather on Saturday evening, the races have been moved up to start at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
