
'Cuse in the Pros: Week Eight PLL Update

DENVER – A mile high and in front of a capacity crowd, the Premier Lacrosse League concluded week eight of its regular season at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium at the University of Denver.
The PLL teams all wore throwback-style, porthole mesh jerseys for the weekend in the Mile High City, which included 80s style logos for each team.
Whipsnakes LC Won 12-10 Over Chaos LC
Tucker Dordevic returned to the scoring column, chipping in a crucial two-point goal midway through the fourth quarter, giving the Whips a 12-8 lead for the come-from-behind win after trailing 7-4 early in the third quarter.
Atlas LC Lost 14-11 to Waterdogs LC
Brendan Curry took three shots against the Waterdogs.
Drake Porter was on the game-day roster for week eight, but did not see the field.
Atlas assistant coach Steven Brooks helped the side mount a would-be come back as Atlas pulled back within one of the Waterdogs late in the third quarter as the newly-acquired Myles Jones canned a goal for a 9-8 deficit.
Redwoods LC Won 16-15 Over Cannons LC in Overtime
Cole Kirst continued his scoring ways as the rookie deposited another two goals on three shots, helping the 'Woods secure a playoff berth. He added three ground balls to the mix, in addition to a pair of penalties.Kirst opened the game's scoring 25 seconds into the tilt and again midway through the second quarter to put the Redwoods up 6-4.
Up Next for the PLL
The PLL makes its way to the Pacific Northwest next week for a four-game set in Seattle. Action begins on Friday at 9 p.m. EST from Cheney Stadium with Whipsnakes and Archers squaring off. Atlas and Cannons follow at 11:30 p.m. EST. On Saturday, Chrome and Redwoods meet at 8 p.m. EST followed by a 10:30 p.m. EST showdown between Chaos and Waterdogs.
