Syracuse (1-2-0) battled back from a two-goal, second-half deficit and pressed Auburn (2-0-1) until the end of play but the Tigers remained undefeated with a 2-1 decision at the SU Soccer Stadium on Thursday.
The Orange's Hannah Pilley scored her second goal of the still young season at the 67:52 mark to cut Auburn's advantage to one, 2-1. Each squad had opportunities over the final 22:08 but were unable to add a tally.
THE VISITORS STRIKE FIRST:

Vanderbosch produced a spectacular save just over ten minutes after the intermission. Auburn's Sydney Richards got off a shot attempt from point-blank range but Vanderbosch extended and deflected the ball over the top bar with an extended arm.
TIGER CORNER INITIATES SECOND TALLY

Auburn's LJ Knox drove the lose ball off a Syracuse defender and into the net to up the Tiger margin to 2-0.
ORANGE RALLY:
