The Orange welcome Central New York Rival Binghamton to the SU Soccer Stadium on Sunday, August 27. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
SENIOR SALUTEÂ
Syracuse will recognize six seniors in a pre-game ceremony. The honorees include Aysia Cobb, Raia James, Kate Murphy, Hannah Pilley, Mags Thornton and Zoe Van de Cloot. The players will receive a framed Syracuse jersey.
THE SYRACUSE-BINGHAMTON SERIES:
Syracuse has an 8-1-1 advantage in the all-time series with Binghamton. The Orange own a six-game winning streak in matches with the Bearcats. Syracuse won last year's encounter at Binghamton, 2-1.
SYRACUSE STATUS:
Syracuse came from behind but eventually lost to visiting Auburn on Thursday, 2-1. Senior Hannah Pilley recorded her second goal of the season in the defeat.
Sophomore Shea Vanderbosch has handled all the goalkeeping duties this season. She has a 1.00 goals-against-average and .850 save percentage.
BINGHAMTON STATUS:Â
Binghamton has registered losses to Fairfield (2-0) and Seton Hall (3-0), sandwiched around a draw with Canisius (0-0).
Grad student Olivia McKnight has a team-leading seven shots. Junior Kaitlyn Williams (1.67 GAA, .706 save %) has played every minute for Binghamton.
LOCAL BEARCATS:
Binghamton has a number of area players on its roster. The group includes:
Jamesville-Dewitt High School product Mega Baker; Fayetteville-Manlius High School graduates Lauren Clark and Hannah Knych; Allison Falvo, a New Hartford High School graduate; Hannah Mimas, who played at C.W. Baker High School in Baldwinsville; and Kaitlyn Williams, who competed for Clinton High School. Â
