Syracuse opens Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play and wraps up a stretch of five consecutive road contests when it plays at Miami on Friday, Sept. 15, at 6:00 p.m.

THE SYRACUSE-MIAMI SERIES:
The Orange lead the all-time serie with the Hurricanes, 6-5-1. The last time Syracuse and Miami met was on Sept. 25, 2022, and the Orange came out with a 3-1 victory.

SYRACUSE STATUS:
The Orange battled Fairfield to a scoreless draw on Sunday. Redshirt sophomore Erin Flurey and senior Hannah Pilley each have two goals this season. Sophomore Shea Vanderbosch (1.50 GAA, .778 save %) has posted two shutouts and played all eight matches in 2023.

MIAMI STATUS:
Miami is 1-3-3 on the season. The Hurricanes had a season-opening win at Stetson (3-0) and tied back-to-back outings with Florida Atlantic (1-1) and Florida (0-0). Miami has lost three of its last four, dropping decisions to Georgia Southern (2-1), at Mississippi State (2-1) and at Florida International (1-0). The stretch also included a draw at Alabama (0-0).

Junior Lauren Meeks (1g, 1a) and grad student Emma Tucker (3a) have led Miami in points while grad student Melissa Dagenais (0.85 GAA, .821 save %) has started six of their seven contests in goal.

NOTABLE NOTES:

Junior Kylen Grant has played every minute of the first eight matches for the Orange.
The Atlantic Coast Conference continues to own multiple residences in the United Soccer Coaches Poll. The ACC has three of the top 10 teams and six overall in the Sept. 12 rankings.
With a win against the Hurricanes, Syracuse would start conference play 1-0 for the first time since joining the ACC.
The next Orange appearance at the SU Soccer Stadium is Sept. 21 against fourth-ranked Florida State.
