
Six Current, Former Orange Named to U.S. Box Training Squad

SPARKS, Md. – Syracuse senior Emma Ward, junior Olivia Adamson and sophomore Meghan Rode are among the 48 players named to the 2024 U.S. Women's Box Training Team. The group also includes former Orange Nicole Levy '19, Sam Swart '22 and Emily Hawryschuk '22.

The training team, which was selected following a series of player ID camps held from May-August, will participate in three training camps this fall as it continues preparation for the 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships in Utica, N.Y.

Ward ranked third in the nation in assists last season with 56 to go along with 38 goals for a career-high 94 points. Her 56 assists rank third on Syracuse's single-season record. Ward was a member of the IWLCA All-America First Team as well as the All-ACC First Team in 2023.

Adamson recorded career highs in points (51) and assists (21) last season. She took over the draw control duties in mid-March and led the team with 107. Adamson scored multiple goals nine times in 2023, including the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals when she recorded four goals against James Madison. Rode, a native of Garden City, N.Y., did not play in any games during her freshman campaign in 2023.

Levy became the 10th player in program history to record 200 career points during her senior year in 2019. She ended her career with 222 points on 141 goals and 81 assists. The four-time IWLCA All-Northeast Region honoree was the ACC and ECAC Rookie of the Year in 2016.

Swart was a pivotal part of Syracuse's midfield from 2018-22. During her five-year career, Swart helped lead the Orange to four NCAA Tournament appearances, including one trip to the national championship game. In her final season, she started all 21 games and recorded 39 points (26g, 13a), 19 ground balls and six caused turnovers.

Hawryschuk is Syracuse's all-time leader in goals with 272. She also ranks fifth in career points with 341. Hawryschuk was a two-time IWLCA All-America selection during her career and a four-time All-Region honoree. Hawryschuk was named Inside Lacrosse's Clutch Player of the Year in the shortened 2020 season.
