Syracuse hopes to carry momentum from a strong showing against #3 Florida State on Thursday into Sunday's pairing with Virginia Tech at the SU Soccer Stadium.

Both teams will be playing their third ACC contests of the fall.

THE SYRACUSE-VIRGINIA TECH SERIES:
The Hokies have a 7-2-1 advantage in the all-time series with the Orange. Each of the Syracuse triumphs came at home. Virginia Tech won last year's pairing, 2-0.

SYRACUSE STATUS:
The Orange (2-7-1, 0-2-0) led 1-0 and 2-1 before #3 Florida State rallied for the 3-2 decision. Redshirt sophomore Erin Flurey has a squad-leading three goals and two assists. Junior Liesel Odden scored her first collegiate goal versus the Seminoles.

Sophomore Shea Vanderbosch is coming off a career-high 16-save match. Vanderbosch has a 1.70 goals-against-average and a .776 save percentage.

VIRGINIA TECH STATUS:
The .Hokies are 4-3-3 overall and 1-1-0 in the ACC. Virginia Tech won at Boston College on Thursday, 2-1. The lone league loss was to then #2 North Carolina, 1-0.

Sophomore Natalie Mitchell has a squad-best five goals. Freshman Samantha DeGuzman has produced two goals and three assists. Senior Alia Skinner has played every match in goal. She has a 0.70 goals against average and an .837 save percentage.

NOTABLE NOTES:

Vanderbosch's 16-save showing versus Florida State was one off the school record. The standard of 17 stops was established by Shannon Myers in a 2004 match versus Princeton..
Syracuse will be without senior Zoe Van de Cloot, who earned an invitation to train with the Belgian national team. She is expected to return to Syracuse following the completion of camp on Sept. 26.
The Orange are playing back-to-back home games after facing five straight road contests.
