Track Heads to Two Weekend Meets

The Syracuse track and field teams will head to a pair of meets this weekend, with a number of distance runners making their 2024 debuts at the John Thomas Invitational in Boston on Friday and Saturday. Jaheem Hayles and Trei Thorogood will travel to Clemson for the Bob Pollock Invitational over those same days.

Orange Entries:
Friday will feature all men's races, with Saturday being the women's day on the track.
For the Orange, Friday's action will get underway at 11:02 a.m. with the men's 800-meter run. Alexander Segarra and Ryder Kriley are entered.
Benne Anderson, Assaf Harari, Connor Ackley, Joey Eovaldi, Eamon Burke, Gabriel Planty and Ruben Rojas Betanzos will then run in the mile. Those heats begin at 3:20 p.m.
The final event on Friday will feature 10 men in the 3,000-meter run. Perry Mackinnon, Paul O'Donnell, Alex Comerford, Sam Lawler, Ethan Wechsler, Silas Derfel, Alex Herbst, Joey Hendershot, Noah Beveridge and Patrick Malone are set to compete.
Saturday racing for SU begins at 4:10 p.m. in the women's mile. Ellie Lawler, Sophia Jacobs-Townsley, Rylie Lusk, Caroline Kirby, Justus Holden Betts, Baneet Baines, Barbora Svobodova, Bethany Steiner, Leah Futey and Taylor Mascetta are entered for the Orange.
Savannah Roark, Lusk, Olivia Joly, Beatriz Fernandes, Siobhan O'Keefe, Madeline Heintz, Olivia Shattuck and Reilly Zink will then take on the 3,000-meter run, beginning at 5:40 p.m. to end the meet.
