Diggs Named National Defensive Player of the Week

Fadil Diggs recorded a pair of sacks in Syracuse's win over No. 25 UNLV on Friday and has earned the Bronco Nagurski Award's National Defensive Player of the Week.
Diggs came up with the crucial overtime sack that forced a UNLV field goal, allowing the Orange to score a touchdown on their possession to secure an overtime ranked road win. It was part of a two sack, six tackle effort for the senior defensive end.
Diggs ranks fifth in the ACC through five games with 0.80 sacks per game, and is 11th nationally in tackles for loss per game (1.6). He's averaging 5.4 tackles per game, which leads all 'Cuse defensive linemen.
He and the Orange will play their second-straight road game on Saturday at NC State. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. on ACCN.
