SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse University Women's Basketball team signed three players on National Signing Day. The Orange are excited to welcome Jasmyn Cooper, Justus Fitzgerald, and Camdyn Nelson to the squad as Syracuse continues to develop a program that stands on Head Coach Felisha Legette-Jack's three pillars: character, academics and basketball.
Jasmyn Cooper 6'1" Forward – Dedham, MA/ Noble and Greenough School
Cooper is a 6-foot-1 forward from Dedham, Massachusetts. She is a four-star recruit ranked No. 48 in her class according to ESPN's HoopGurlz and is the highest ranked recruit for the Orange since Legette-Jack took over the program in 2022. Cooper plays the wing for Noble & Greenough School in Massachusetts and plays AAU for MCW Starz.
Coach Jack on Jasmyn Cooper:
"We got better when we signed Cooper! Jasmyn is a top 50 student-athlete who said yes to us early. She believes in our culture that we are building here at Syracuse. She will bring athleticism, a high IQ, and ability to win – others will want to play with her. She is so humble that she and her village thought that we could be the team that could elevate her to newfound heights. I am really excited to introduce this amazing student athlete to our Orange family."
Justus Fitzgerald 6'1" Forward – Norcross, GA / Norcross High School
Fitzgerald is a 6-foot-1 forward from Norcross, Ga., who chose Syracuse over Howard, Georgia State, Furman and Georgetown. A Georgia Athletics Coaches Association (GACA) 7A North All-State selection and the region's Co-Player of the Year, Fitzgerald plays AAU for Team Elite Hubbard's 17U Team.
Coach Jack on Justus Fitzgerald:
"We are excited that Justus has joined our family. She will bring athleticism, enthusiasm, competitiveness and an incredibly gifted IG for the game to our team. She is an amazing student with high character and comes from a great family. We are excited to have this high caliber player join our Syracuse family."
Camdyn Nelson 5'8" Point Guard – New Canaan, CT / St. Luke's School
Nelson, a 5-foot-8 point guard ranked No. 91 in her class by 247 Sports verbally committed to Syracuse in April and made it official on Friday morning when she signed with the Orange. She plays at St. Luke's School and has played for Empire Blue Flames AAU with some of the nation's top talent in the Northeast. Her older sister, Mackenzie, is a redshirt freshman at fellow ACC school, Virginia Tech.
Coach Jack on Camdyn Nelson:
"Camdyn is going to be a steady point guard that can score at all three levels. She's a great shooter that can pull up or get to the rim. What I love the most is how she can assist and how she seems to have eyes in the back of her head. She never tires, works hard all the time and is a ferocious winner. Her character and her love for the game will elevate us as a basketball program. Her strong academics and character supersede her amazing basketball skillset. We are very excited to have Camdyn join our Orange family."
Syracuse University Women's Basketball is a proud member of the NCAA Division I Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).
