Orange Return To Action This Weekend

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women's tennis team will return home to Drumlin's Country Club after a break in the schedule of nearly two weeks. The Orange (4-1) will face its first ACC opponent in Boston College (3-2) on Saturday, Feb 17 at 11 a.m. and will end the weekend against Massachusetts (4-1) on Sunday, Feb 18 at 11 a.m.

This weekend will mark the 41st showing between Syracuse and Boston College. The Eagles leads the series, 24-15-1. In their most recent contest, 'Cuse picked up a 4-3 win on Feb. 18, 2023. Syracuse's match against Massachusetts will be the 6th all-time between the two programs. The last showdown took place on Feb. 20, 2009, where the Orange took a 6-1 victory.

Boston College is coming off a loss against Xavier that snapped their three-game winning streak. Marice Aguiar (6-2, 6-0), Tola Glowacka (6-2, 6-2), and Natalie Eordekian (6-1, 6-1) put on dominant singles performances for the Eagles. Glowacka and Seren Agar were the only doubles duo to come out on top for Boston College. Massachusetts earned a 4-2 road victory against Army in its last contest. The pair of Renata Farima and Mariana Campino claimed the sole doubles win of the day. Â In singles, the Minutemen secured victories at No. 1, 2, 3 and 5 to give them the edge over the Golden Knights.

Syracuse was most recently in action against Columbia, suffering their first loss of the season, 5-2. Anastasia Sysoeva obtained the lone singles win for the Orange in the number five spot. Miyuka Kimoto and Emilie Elde kick-started the doubles success for 'Cuse with a 6-2 victory in the number one spot. Constance Levivier and Sysoeva secured the doubles point for Syracuse in the number three spot.

Following Sunday's match, 'Cuse will continue conference play as they face Clemson on Friday, Feb. 23 and Georgia Tech on Sunday, Feb 25 at Drumlins Country Club.
