
Syracuse Beats Boston College For First ACC Win

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women's tennis team secured its first ACC win and fifth straight victory at home against Boston College, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon at Drumlin's Country Club.
The Eagles (3-3, 0-1 ACC) got the best of the Orange (5-1, 1-0) in doubles action and took the first point of the day. Seren Agar and Stephanie Sanchez bested Emilie Elde and Miyuka Kimoto, 6-3, in the number two doubles spot. Boston College locked down the doubles point when Marice Aguiar and Tola Glowacka defeated the duo of Shiori Ito and Viktoriya Kanapatskaya in the number one spot, 6-4. The pairing of Polina Kozyreva and Ines Fonte were ahead, 5-4, before the squads decided to move onto the singles event.
Kanapatskaya earned the first point in singles play with a commanding 6-0, 6-0 win against Glowacka in the number two spot. Kimoto was next to finish up and dropped her match to Aguiar in the number one spot, 6-2, 6-0. Fonte knotted the score at 2-2 after taking down Seren Agar in the number five spot, 6-3, 6-3. Ito gave the Orange the lead with a 6-4, 6-1 victory against Nada Dimovska in the number six spot.
Kozyreva earned the winning point for 'Cuse by taking down Natalie Eordekian in the number three spot, 7-5, 6-3. Anastasia Sysoeva closed out Saturday's competition in the number four spot by outlasting Muskan Mahajan in a match that went the distance, 6-4, 5-7, [5-2].
The Orange will finish out the weekend with a home matchup against Massachusetts on Sunday, 11 a.m. inside Drumlin's Country Club. Live results will be available for each court and the match will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra.
