A JIM BOEHEIM DAY TO REMEMBER
At the conclusion of Saturday's contest, Syracuse University Athletics will be honoring legendary SU basketball coach and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame member Jim Boeheim '66. The ceremony will recognize the numerous accomplishments of the recently retired coach as part of "Coach Jim Boeheim Day." Friends, family and former Syracuse players will be in attendance to celebrate his illustrious 47-year career at the helm of the men's basketball program.

SETTING THE STAGE
The Orange own a 12-2 record at home this season. The last game Syracuse hosted resulted in an 86-79 victory against then ranked #7/5 North Carolina.

The Fighting Irish are on a three-game winning streak. Their most recent success came in a victory at Louisville, 72-50, on Wednesday, February 21.

Notre Dame is the third most frequent ACC foe for Syracuse. The squads will meet on the hardwood for the 57th time on Saturday. The Orange own a 33-23 lead in the all-time series. Sophomore forward Chris Bell had a team-best 26 points, all in the first half, in an 87-83 win at NC State last Tuesday. Bell made eight consecutive 3-point attempts and was one short of tying the program records for 3-pointers made in a game. Sophomore swingman Quadir Copeland produced a career-high 25 points. He also logged eight rebounds, two blocks, one assist and one steal. The sophomore backcourt pair of Judah Mintz (15) and J.J. Starling (13) each contributed double-digit scoring efforts.

Mintz surpassed 1,000 career points in the contest to become the 66th player in program history to hit the mark. He crossed the threshold in just 59 games, tying George Hicker for the seventh fastest player to reach 1,000 career points.

The Orange have five performers averaging double-figure scoring in ACC games this season: Mintz (16.1 ppg.), Starling (15.1), Bell (11.6), Copeland (10.9) and sophomore center Maliq Brown (10.1). Brown leads the squad in rebound average with 6.7 per game and 7.6 in ACC contests.

Mintz ranks nationally in the top 10 in free throws attempted (sixth, 230) and made (ninth, 175) this season. He is currently seventh all-time in free throws made in one season at Syracuse. Mintz has delivered 120Â assists this season and is third in the conference with 4.4 assists per affair. He ranks fifth in the ACC in points per game this season with 18.1 per outing.

Syracuse is atop the ACC with 9.4 steals per game. Brown (2.26), Mintz (2.11) and Copeland (1.52) stand at first, third and 10th, respectively, among conference players in steal average.
