Orange Climb to No. 4 in ILWomen/IWLCA Rankings

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse moved up three spots to No. 4 in this week's ILWomen/IWLCA rankings released on Monday, Feb. 26. It's the Orange's highest ranking this season.

The Orange upset No. 2 Notre Dame in South Bend, 16-14, last Saturday. Syracuse trailed by four at halftime, but outscored the Fighting Irish, 6-1, in the third quarter. After Notre Dame scored the first goal of the fourth quarter to tie the score at 12-12, the Orange tallied three-straight goals to take the lead for good in the ACC opener for both teams.

The win evened the 'Cuse record at 2-2. Syracuse has faced one of the toughest schedules in the nation in the first few weeks of the 2024 campaign. In addition to taking on the second-ranked Fighting Irish, the Orange have played then-No. 1 Northwestern, No. 9 Maryland and No. 18 Army. Syracuse has already faced or will take on six of this week's top 10.

The Orange return to the JMA Wireless Dome on Saturday, March 2, to host Duke for a noon contest. Tickets for the game are on sale at Cuse.com/tickets.
