THE GAME
- After a seemingly rare full week away from games, Syracuse men's lacrosse returns to the JMA Wireless Dome on Wednesday night, hosting in-state rival Army West Point after a one-year hiatus in a series that dates back to the end of World War I.
- Jack Gordon and  Adam Gotkin will have the call Wednesday night for ACC Network Extra at the JMA Wireless Dome. Francesco Simone (pxp) and Kyle Fetterly (analyst) have the radio call on TK99/105, Cuse.com, The Varsity App, and TuneIn App, as will WAER.
- Despite being the fifth week of games, the Orange enter the second third of the 2024 season, having knocked out five games of the 15-game schedule. It's another quick turnaround for Syracuse, which welcomes High Point on Saturday night.
THE ARMY WEST POINT Â SERIES
- Syracuse and Army West Point have met 69 times before Wednesday's game in a series that dates back to the 1921 campaign.
- Army is the third-most frequent opponent in program history, with Wednesday's 70th meeting trailing only Hobart (108) and Cornell (107).
- The Black Knights have won the last two meetings in 2021 and 2022, but the Orange have picked up seven wins in the last 10 meetings, including three straight from 2018-2020.Â
- Syracuse leads the series in the Salt City, however, claiming a 21-14 edge, including a 19-5 mark since the Dome was opened in 1981.
- In case of emergency, Syracuse is 3-2 all-time against the Black Knights when bonus lacrosse is needed to determine a winner.
ORANGE IN BOUNCE-BACK GAMES
- Â After dropping an overtime heartbreaker against No. 4 Maryland, Syracuse picked off Utah 18-7, improving the Orange to 73-35 in games following a loss during a season (this record does not include the season opener following season-ending losses) in their last 107 tries.
- Since the team won its first NCAA Championship in 1983, 'Cuse has only had 17 "losing streaks" (two or more consecutive losses) in 40 seasons.
LEADING FROM THE FRONT
- Syracuse's offense is efficient in 2024.
- The Orange have trailed for basically a quarter during 2024, 15 minutes and 23 seconds to be exact.
- Out of the 303 minutes played this season, the Orange have led for 278 minutes or 92 percent of the season.
- The Orange only trailed Maryland for less than a dozen minutes total, despite the overtime setback on Saturday.
