
Orange Win 3 Events at Fast Trax Invite

The Syracuse track team racked up three event wins at the Fast Trax Invitational on Saturday.
Caroline Kirby won the women's mile by nearly nine full seconds, pacing the Orange to take five of the top-seven spots. Kirby crossed the line in 5:06.50, followed by Leah Futey (5:15.60) in third. Tess Fitzmaurice (5:17.29), Bethany Steiner (5:17.33) and Reilly Zink (5:18.82) took fifth through seventh. Olivia Shattuck (5:24.13), Taylor Msacetta (5:38.89) and Lucy Zombek (5:43.86) also raced.
CJ Fox won the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.10 seconds. She posted a mark of 9.04 in the prelims. Olivia Etienvre was runner-up in personal-best time of 9.37 seconds. Kirstyn Schechter qualified for the finals in 9.96 seconds, but did not race in the final.
Shayla Ford continued the Orange's winning ways, with a victory in the 400-meter dash. She finished with a time of 59.29 seconds.
Samuel Mutiso ran to a time of 8.55 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles prelims, which qualified him for the finals.
Syracuse's next meets will start on Feb. 9 at the Clemson Tiger Paw Invitational and David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
