No. 3 Syracuse Takes on No. 1 Notre Dame on ACC Network
BALTIMORE, Md. – Eight Syracuse University men's lacrosse student-athletes earned Midseason All-America recognition from Inside Lacrosse. The publication announced its Midseason All-America teams Friday afternoon.
Will Mark was selected First Team as a goalkeeper, with Joey Spallina and Jake Stevens earning Second Team recognition at attack and midfield, respectively. Faceoff specialist Mason Kohn and close defenseman Billy Dwan were each named Third Team.
Midfielder Michael Leo, short stick defensive midfielder Carter Rice, and long stick midfielder Saam Olexo were among the Honorable Mention selections.
The eight honorees have backed Syracuse, ranked third in both the USILA Coaches Poll and Inside Lacrosse Media Polls this week, to a 9-2 start. Syracuse opened ACC play with a 10-4 win over then-No. 3 Duke last week as the Orange are riding a run of five-straight wins.
No. 3 Syracuse continues ACC play this weekend as the Orange get set for a top-five clash against No. 1 Notre Dame. Game time is set for 2 p.m. in South Bend, Indiana at Arlotta Stadium. ACC Network will have Saturday's game with Mike Corey and Quint Kessenich on the call.
