THE GAME
- On the road for the first time in 2024, Syracuse men's lacrosse buckles up to renew its rivalry with Johns Hopkins for another top-10 clash. The two winningest programs in NCAA Division I history meet on Saturday, March 9 at the Crown Lacrosse Classic, hosted in Charlotte, North Carolina at American Legion Memorial Stadium.
- Anish Shroff '04 and Paul Carcaterra '97 will have the call Saturday night for ESPN+, with a tape-delay broadcast on ESPNU on Sunday at 2 p.m. Pulling double duty this weekend with the 'Cuse women's basketball team in the ACC Tournament down the road in Greensboro, Tim Leonard (pxp) and long-time analyst Kyle Fetterly (analyst) have the radio call on TK99/105, Cuse.com, The Varsity App, and TuneIn App, as will WAER.
- Syracuse is the only NCAA Division I men's lacrosse team that has yet to play a game away from home. UMass, UNC and Richmond have each played at least one neutral site game, but no true road games.

THE JOHNS HOPKINS SERIES
- It's a rivalry almost as old as Syracuse lacrosse itself as the Orange and Blue Jays meet for the 62nd time since the 1921 season.
- The series is about as even as it gets - Hopkins leads 32-28-1 all-time, and the last 10 meetings are an even 5-5 split.
- The lone tie in the series was the very first showdown, a 4-4 final score on April 20, 1921in Syracuse.
- Saturday's tilt in the Queen City will be th first neutral site showdown since the 2015 NCAA Tournament in Annapolis, Maryland.
- These two historic powerhouses have never played one another in the state of North Carolina, and have never clashed further south than College Park/Annapolis. It will also be the furthest west Syracuse and Hopkins have ever squared off.

A WIN ON SATURDAY WOULD...
- Syracuse improve to 6-2, the first time Syracuse opens 6-2 in the Gary Gait era.
- Mark the first Syracuse win over Johns Hopkins since a 15-9 win at Homewood Field in 2020.
- See the Orange take down a top-5 opponent for the first time since knocking off No. 5 Virginia 13-11 in Charlottesville on April 24, 2021.
- Be the 942nd win all-time in program history, second-most among Division I programs.

RE-MARK-ABLE
- Will Mark is back for a fifth season of college lacrosse.
- #88 returns for his second season between the pipes for the Orange, backstopping Syracuse to an 8-7 record a year ago.
- In his first season with 'Cuse, Mark made 207 saves at a 54.2 percent clip, averaging 13.8 saves per game.
- Mark ranked eighth nationally in saves per game last season and led the ACC.
- In his career, with the first three seasons at LIU, Mark has made 781 saves in his career and is the current active leader among NCAA Division I netminders, more than 120 career saves clear of the next-closest active goalie - Chayse Ierlan of Johns Hopkins.
- Saturday pits the two NCAA active career saves leaders at the Crown Lacrosse Classic.
- With a solid season near or above his average of 176 saves per year, Mark could move inside the NCAA Division I top 10 for career saves. Only three players have ever made more than 1,000 saves and none this century.
- Mark is currently 17th in NCAA Division I history with his career saves total - looking to catch Paul Schimoler (Cornell) in 16th all-time with 787 stops from 1986-89.
- Only 14 Division I goalies have made more than 800 career saves.
