Syracuse guard Dyaisha Fair will be in attendance at the 2024 WNBA Draft on Monday, April 15, becoming the first player in program history to be invited and attend the draft. The WNBA announced the 2024 Draft invitees on Thursday afternoon.Â
The WNBA Draft is moving to a new venue this year, Brookly Academy of Music, in order to hold more fans. The 2024 WNBA Draft will be televised live on ESPN and the ESPN App at 7:30 p.m. There are three rounds to the draft with 12 picks in each round. Picks can be traded as long as the trades are completed by 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 14.Â
The Rochester, N.Y., native's name will forever be remembered in Syracuse. She's one of the best guards to ever wear the Block S.Â
Fair leaves college as the third leading scorer all-time in NCAA Division I women's basketball with 3,403 points. She's projected as high as No. 9 in some mock drafts and is expected to be a first round pick. After scoring 2,035 career points in three seasons at Buffalo, Fair made the move east down I-90 to Syracuse where she shined as an All-ACC First Team selection in both 2023 and 2024. In 2023 she earned All-ACC Defensive Team honors and was WBCA All-America Honorable Mention. This season, she averaged 22.3 points per game, third-most in the ACC, and led the Orange to their first NCAA Tournament appearance and win since 2021. She scored in double figures in every game except one this season and broke program records for three-pointers in a game (9), career scoring average (21.1 ppg) and average minutes played in a career (36.7). She is the 10th on the all-time scoring list at Syracuse with 1,368 points and is the fastest in program history to score 1,000 points (50 games).Â
Fair is in line to be the sixth player drafted to the WNBA out of Syracuse. She would join the ranks of Alexis Peterson (2017, 15th overall), Brittney Sykes (2017, 7th overall), Brianna Butler (2016, 23rd overall), Kayla Alexander (2013, 8th overall) and Beth Record (2001, 68th overall).Â
