
Orange Add New Outdoor Record and a handful of PRs Friday

Elijah Mallard led the way on day one of the Tom Jones Memorial for the Syracuse track and field teams, starting his weekend with a personal-best time in the 400-meter hurdles.
He took third in the event, posting a time of 51.32. His teammate, Xayvion Perkins, was 10th in a time of 52.72 seconds.
Trei Thorogood ran to a time of 21.00 seconds in the 200-meter dash, 0.14 seconds off his personal best. He was 32nd overall in the invite flight of the highly competitive field.
Shaleah Colaire ran in the women's 400-meter hurdles, placing fifth overall and in 59.12 seconds.
James Nmah competed in the men's 200-meter dash, finishing in 22.42 seconds, while Peyton Rollins (25.78) raced in the women's 200-meter dash.
The Orange also competed at the Friar Invitational in Providence, Rhode Island. Benne Anderson ran another sub-4 minute mile to headline the day. He finished in 3:58.81, his second time below the mark after doing so in indoor as well, and jus 0.03 seconds off his personal best time.
It's a new outdoor mile school record for Anderson, who won the event as well, besting Bruce Fischer's 4:02.40 time from 1972. He was followed by teammates Ruben Rojas Betanzos (4:10.39) and Ryder Kriley (4:21.99), who both posted new career bests. Predominantly raced in indoor season, Justyn Knight holds the overall school record in the mile at 3:55.82.
Isaiah Lewis (14.51 seconds) and Emanuel Joesph (14.92 seconds) took the top-two spots in the 110-meter hurdles to pick up an event win for the Orange.
Olivia Garner set a new personal best in the 100-meter dash, taking third in 12.56 seconds.
Bethany Steiner added to the PRs in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. She posted a time of 10:59.86, taking fifth. Julian Franjieh was third in the men's event with a time of 9:01.00.
CJ Fox was runner-up In the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.80 seconds. Olivia Etienvre was third and Kirstyn Schechter took sixth.
In the 200-meter dash, Shayla Ford turned in a sixth place finish (26.16 seconds).
Alexander Segarra was eighth in the 800-meter run after posting a time of 1:52.04.
Leah Futey was the top 'Cuse finisher in the women's mile, crossing the line in 5:11.93. Behind her, Madeline Lutz (5:24.02) and Lucy Zombek (5:25.09) each set new PRs.
The day closed with the 5,000-meter runs. Tess Fitzmaurice (17:45.35) was 12th, while Olivia Shattuck posted a new PR in 17:51.91. Joey Hendershot was the top SU runner in the men's race with a new career-best time as well. He finished in 14:53.68. Noah Beveridge (15:26.98) and Patrick Malone (15:36.47), rounded out the field. Malone's time was a new best for him as well.
