
Virginia and Albany Meets Start Weekend for 'Cuse

The Syracuse track and field teams will compete in a pair of meets on Friday, with a strong list of distance runners headed to the Virginia Challenge, plus the Orange entered in events up to the 1,500-meter run at the Bobbi Palma Spring Classic at UAlbany.
Virginia Challenge

Orange Entries:
Savannah Roark kicks off race weekend for the Orange with the women's 1,500-meter run at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
Shortly after, Benne Anderson, Alex Comerford, Silas Derfel, Sam Lawler, and Perry Mackinnon will be running the men's 1,500 run, which begins at 5:05 p.m. Mackinnon and Anderson will race in the top flight of the event at 7:35 p.m.
Madison Neuner will race in the steeplechase at 8:15 p.m., followed by the the women's 5,000-meter run at 8:55 p.m. There, Olivia Joly, Ellie Lawler, and Siobhan O'keefe will be running. Lawler will compete in the invite flight at 8:55.
Connor Ackley, Ruben Rojas Betanzos, and Ethan Wechsler will run the same event, which begins at 9:15pm.
Assaf Harari and Paul O'Donnell will close out day one running the 10,000 meters at 9:55 p.m.
To close out the weekend, Alexander Segarra will compete in the men's 800m run at 4:25pm on Saturday.Â

The action will begin at 4:10 p.m. for the Orange, with Bethany Steiner, Beatriz Fernandes, Leah Futey, Tess Fitzmaurice, Olivia Shattuck, Lizzie Bigelow, Madeline Lutz, Lucy Zombek and Kayla Harding entered in the women's 1,500-meter run. The men have Joey Hendershot, Patrick Malone and Ryder Kriley entered.
Next, Ariel Haywood will compete in the 400-meter dash, beginning at 4:25 p.m.
The 100 and 110-meter hurdles start at 4:45 p.m. There, the men will see Naseem Smith, Anthony Vazquez, Isaiah Lewis and Emanuel Joseph compete, with the women racing Taleea Buxton, Peyton Rollins, Kirstyn Schechter and Olivia Etienvre.
Shortly after 5 p.m., Trei Thorogood will race in the 100-meter dash, with Kaleia Arrington, Rollins and Olivia Garner representing the women in the event.
Taylor Mascetta will race in the 800-meters, before the 'Cuse day concludes with Ariel Haywood in the 400-meter dash, followed by Thorogood, Arrington, Garner and Shayla Ford racing in the 200s.
