
Orange Set For Notre Dame Rematch In ACC Tournament

CARY, N.C. - The #10-seed Syracuse women's tennis team begins ACC Championship play in the second round against #7-seed Notre Dame on Thursday, April 18. First serve is slated for 6:00 p.m. in Cary, N.C. at Cary Tennis Park. The match will be streamed live and have live stats available.

Earlier this month, the Orange (10-10, 4-9 ACC) suffered a 5-2 loss against the Fighting Irish (16-8, 7-6). Shiori Ito, Anastasia Sysoeva, and a doubles team of Viktoriya Kanapatskaya and Miyuka Kimoto earned victories the last time out vs. Notre Dame. Overall, Syracuse is 5-12 against Notre Dame in a series that dates back to 1997. The most recent series victory for 'Cuse came in February of 2021, where the Orange took down the Irish, 4-3.

In ACC Tournament play, Syracuse is 3-9, with their most recent win occurring in 2019 against Georgia Tech. This is the first time the Orange will square off against the Fighting Irish in the ACC Tournament.

Syracuse is coming off a dominant performance after defeating Louisville 7-0 at Drumlin's Country Club on Senior Day. 'Cuse started off strong by claiming the doubles point, then all six of the Orange who played in the singles event won with two-set victories.

Notre Dame is having an excellent season as they have won four of their last five matches, all in conference competition. The Fighting Irish are led by #26 Julia Andreach, who has a 25-3 record on the season.
