
Ten Earn All-ACC Honors

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina – Syracuse is well represented on the women's lacrosse All-ACC squads that were announced by the conference office on Tuesday, April 23 as 10 players were chosen in a vote by the league head coaches.

Graduate students Kate Mashewske and Emma Tyrrell, senior Katie Goodale and junior Olivia Adamson are All-ACC First Team honorees, while graduate students Bianca Chevarie and Delaney Sweitzer and seniors Natalie Smith and Emma Ward are second-team selections. In addition, Kaci Benoit and Joely Caramelli were selected to the All-Freshman Team.

Mashewske leads the ACC and ranks eighth in the nation in draw controls per game (8.88). She became Syracuse's all-time leader in draw controls this season and currently ranks 12th on the Division I career leader list with 485.

Tyrrell leads the Orange in goals this season with 50, which rank fourth in the ACC. She has scored three or more goals in a game nine times and has recorded four or more points in 10 contests. Tyrrell ranks 10th on Syracuse's all-time points list with 245.

Goodale has helped the 'Cuse defense hold its opponents to less than 10 goals in a game eight times in 2024. She is the ACC leader and ranks ninth nationally in caused turnovers per game, averaging 2.33 per contest. Goodale also is fourth in the league in ground balls per game (2.38) and has recorded 38 draw controls, which rank second on the team.

Adamson is Syracuse's leader in points with a career-high 65. Her 44 goals are also a career high, while her 21 assists tie her career-best total. Adamson has recorded three or more points in 14-of-16 games this season, including a season-high six points four times.

Chevarie has posted career highs in ground balls (32) and caused turnovers (20) this season. She earned ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors after leading Syracuse to a win at No. 2 Notre Dame. Sweitzer has a 9.68 goals-against average, which ranks third in the ACC, and a .419 save percentage this season. In addition, Sweitzer leads the team and ranks third in the ACC in ground balls per game (2.38).

Smith is third on the team in goals (33) and fourth in points (38). In addition, she is third on the squad in draw controls with 28. Smith has scored multiple goals in 10-of-15 games this season. Ward leads the Orange in assists with 28. She also ranks third in points with 58. Ward has posted three or more points in 13 contests in 2024.

Benoit has started all 16 games on defense for the Orange. She has recorded 14 ground balls, 12 caused turnovers and three draw controls in her rookie campaign. Caramelli has played in all 16 games this season. The midfielder has posted nine points on seven goals and two assists, to go along with seven ground balls and nine caused turnovers.

The Orange claimed their first outright ACC regular-season title, their third overall, and earned the No. 1 seed at this week's conference tournament. Syracuse takes on No. 9 seed Louisville on Wednesday, April 24 at 11 a.m. on ACC Network.
