
Crittenden Begins Olympic Competition on Sunday

Freddie Crittenden III is set to make his Olympic debut on Sunday in the men's 110-meter hurdles first round.
Currently ranked fourth in the world, Crittenden will start his quest for a medal in the second of five heats, where the top-three finishers and next-three fastest times will advance to the semifinals.
He's the only runner in his heat that has a season-best time faster than 13 seconds. Spain's Asier Martinez (13.14 personal best) and Jamaica's Orlando Bennett (13.18 personal best) are his stiffest competition in this round. Crittenden PRed with a time of 12.93 at the US Championships earlier this summer.
A former U.S. Champion in the 60-meter hurdles, Crittenden was a five-time All-American and six-time All-ACC honoree in his time at Syracuse. He was a runner-up in back-to-back seasons at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in his collegiate career at Syracuse, where he graduated in 2017. He has since had a successful international career.
He'll begin his Olympic journey at 5:50 a.m. eastern time on Sunday. The semifinal round will be at 1:05 p.m. eastern on Aug. 7 and the final will be a day later at 3:45 p.m. eastern time.
