SYRACUSE, N.Y. - No. 7 Syracuse men's soccer (2-0-1) hosts Le Moyne (1-1-0) on Monday, Sept. 2, to close out its three-match homestand. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and the match will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
Parking and admission are free for all in attendance.
'Cuse Update
Syracuse freshman Kristjan Fortier net a 70th-minute equalizer to help the Orange earn a 2-2 draw with the Charlotte 49ers on Thursday, Aug. 29.
Nicholas Kaloukian also recorded a goal in the draw, opening the contest's scoring on the first shot of the game by redirecting a ball from Gabe Threadgold with his heel that went past a Charlotte defender and into the back of the net.
Orange in the Polls
Syracuse was ranked No. 7 in the latest edition of the United Soccer Coaches poll, released on Tuesday, Aug. 27. The Orange, who jumped 18 spots from the preseason rankings, earned the distinction after a two-win opening week against Colgate and Niagara.
Syracuse is one of six ACC teams included in the week-one rankings. The other five schools were reigning National Champion, Clemson (N o. 1), Pittsburgh (No. 3), Stanford (No. 13), Louisville (No. 15), and North Carolina (No. 17).
Virginia Tech (5), SMU (4), Notre Dame (4), and Duke (2) also received votes towards the rankings.
Syracuse was also included in the latest TopDrawerSoccer poll at No. 15.
2024 Promotional Schedule: Otto's Kids Club Day
Syracuse men's soccer invites the Orange community out to Monday's match for Otto's Kids Club Day.
Junior Orange campers and Otto's Kids Club members will be able to receive giveaways at the marketing table. There will also be a halftime photo for the campers on the field.
Additionally at every game, fans can enter to win a team-autographed soccer ball giveaway. The winner will be selected on Senior Day.
Scouting the Dolphins
The Dolphins are coming to Syracuse after a 3-2 season-opening win over Canisius on Thursday, Aug. 22. The contest was deadlocked at two goals apiece until the 64th minute, when senior Brady McNulty scored his first career goal to give Le Moyne its win.
Freshmen Guiliano Michitti and Rhys Allport also scored their first-career goals in the win
After their triumph over Canisius, the Dolphins dropped a tough 1-0 decision to Binghampton (Aug. 25) to fall to 1-1-0 on the year.
In 2023, the Dolphins had their first season as a Division I team, earning victories over conference opponents Central Connecticut State and Saint Francis.
Series History: Salt City Clash
Monday's ma tch will be the first contest in the all-time series between the Syracuse, N.Y., schools since the Dolphins became a Division I program ahead of the 2023 season.
Men's soccer will be the second Orange program to face the Dolphins in a Division I regular season contest after the schools' softball program matched up in a trio of games on the diamond during the 2024 campaign.
