AGAINST THE FCS
• Syracuse is a perfect 21-0 against FCS foes (formerly Division I-AA) since the separation of major college football programs into two divisions in 1978.
• The streak includes 20-straight wins in the Dome.
300 YARD MAN
• QB Kyle McCord is already putting his name in the Syracuse record book three games into his 'Cuse career.
• He recorded 339 yards passing against Stanford, becoming just the third Orange quarterback to throw for 300 yards in three-straight games. He joins Ryan Nassib (2012), who opened that season with three in a row, and Eric Dungey, who did it in three-consecutive games in 2017.
• McCord is already the sixth 'Cuse quarterback to record three or more 300-yard passing performances in his career. Dungey holds the school career record for 300-yard passing games (12), while Nassib holds the single-season record (six in 2012).
• McCord ranks third in the nation and second in the ACC in passing yards per game (358.0).
PENA STARS THROUGH 3 WEEKS
• WR Trevor Pena has been the most frequent target for QB Kyle McCord this season. Pena leads the team in both receptions (22) and receiving yards (267).
• Pena recorded career highs in catches (10) and receiving yards (101) against Stanford. It marked the first time he has posted 10+ catches and recorded 100+ receiving yards in his career.
• He ranks 11th in the nation in receptions per game (5.42) and 24th in receiving yards per game (89.0).
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
• Following Saturday's game against Holy Cross, the Orange will embark on a 35-day stretch without a game played in the JMA Dome.
• It marks the second-straight year that Syracuse will not play a home game in October and go 34 days between home games.
• Prior to the 2023 season, the last time the Orange did have a home game in the month of October was in 2008 when two byes and two road games accounted for the stretch.
SERIES HISTORY
• Syracuse leads the all-time series with Holy Cross, 24-5. The Orange have won the last 13 pairings dating back to 1959.
• Saturday's game marks the second for the Crusaders in the Dome. Prior to Holy Cross visiting the Dome in 2019, the previous 14 games contested in Syracuse were played at Archbold Stadium (13) or The Oval (1).
• Syracuse is 13-2 at home versus Holy Cross.
• Three of the Crusaders' five wins over the Orange occurred during the first seven games of the series, which began in 1905.
A WIN WOULD …
• Give the Orange their 22nd-straight win against FCS opponents.
• Give Syracuse its 757th all-time victory (includes 11 wins from 2004-06 that were vacated by the NCAA). The Orange currently rank 21st on the FBS ledger of winningest programs. Syracuse is one of 34 FBS schools to have accumulated 700+ wins.
