​-Syracuse will host No. 9 Penn State this weekend for a home-and-home AHA conference series.Â
-Both games will be streamed live on FloHockey, with live stats available on Cuse.com.Â
-Friday's puck drop at Tennity Ice Pavilion is scheduled for 6 p.m., followed by a 3 p.m. start on Saturday.Â
-Friday matchup marks the fourth home game in an active January schedule for the Orange, who will play seven of their eight games at home. The lone exception is an away game at RIT for their second series of the year against the Tigers.Â
-Syracuse enters the series after a midweek clash with No. 6 Cornell on Tuesday night. The Orange fell 6-3 despite a strong start, leading in the first period and entering the third tied 2-2. However, the Big Red pulled away with a late surge to secure the win.Â
-The ninth-ranked Nittany Lions come to Syracuse boasting a 19-4-1 overall record, including an impressive 6-1 mark on the road. Penn State has remained undefeated since the start of 2025.
-Syracuse and Penn State share a long-standing rivalry, meeting for the 54th time in series history. This marks the third-most meetings against a single opponent in program history, behind only Mercyhurst (68) and Robert Morris (62).
Kelley Goes for All-Time Saves Mark
- Graduate student net-minder Allie Kelley goes for the NCAA NC all-time career saves mark this weekend.
- Entering the Penn State series, Kelley has turned aside 4,135 opponent shots across her time at Quinnipiac, St. Anselm, and Syracuse, including 1,912 at Syracuse.
- She is 33 saves shy of surpassing the career mark of 4,167 set by Lovisa Selander (RPI) from 2016-19. Kelley is one of just two goalies to make over 4,000 saves in her career, backed by 782 already this year.
- The East Berne, New Yorker is in-line to make over 1,000 saves for a fourth-straight season, needing just 218 more across the next 10 games, just a 21.8 per-game average. She is averaging 33.35 saves per game in her collegiate career.
Skate with the Orange is Back!
- On Monday, January 20, the Orange return to Clinton Square in downtown Syracuse for the annual Skate with the Orange!
- From 1- 3 p.m., Syracuse players will hit the ice to skate with fans.
- Syracuse marketing and promotions will be on hand with autograph posters and a special appearance from Mascot Hall of Famer, Otto the Orange!
Drabyk and Canada take Gold
- With the 2025 IIHF U18 Women's World Championship concluded, recent Syracuse signee Ava Drabyk and Hockey Canada won gold, topping the United States 3-0.
- Drabyk and Hockey Canada went untouched through the entire tournament in Vantaa, Finland, going 3-0-0 in Group B play, followed by a 17-0 win over Japan in the quarterfinals, a 4-2 win over Czechia in the semifinals and a 3-0 shutout against the United States to claim gold. Canada allowed just five goals the entire tournament.
