Clemson (16-4, 8-1 ACC) defeated Syracuse (9-10, 3-5 ACC) on Wednesday night in Littlejohn Coliseum, 86-72, in Clemson, S.C. The Orange were led by J.J. Starling's 25-point performance. The guard shot 50-percent from behind-the-arc in the win and had an impressive 17 first-half points. Clemson was led by Chase Hunter's 23 points while three other Tigers scored in double figures.

Clemson closed the first half on a 10-0 run to lead 48-29 at halftime. The Tigers held the Orange scoreless for the final 4:54 of action in the opening period. Syracuse was unable to cut the deficit to single digits in the second half despite getting hot late in the game, making five of its last six attempts from the field.
