Track Heads to Clemson and Boston for Weekend Meets

The Syracuse track and field teams will head to a pair of meets this weekend, traveling to Clemson for the Bob Pollock Invitational and Boston University for the John Thomas Terrier Classic.

Bob Pollock Invitational:

ORANGE ENTRIES:
The women start off the meet on Friday at 12:05 p.m. with Peyton Rollins and Taleea Buxton competing in the women's 60-meter hurdles. Buxton has won this event in back-to-back meets heading into this weekend.

Trei Thorogood will get things started for the men at 1:35 p.m., when he competes in the 60-meter dash prelims.

Both events will feature semifinals and finals, should the Orange have runners advance through each stage. The women's hurdles semis are at 2:35 p.m., followed by the men's 60-meter dash semis at 4:10. The finals will be at 5:20 p.m. and 5:35 p.m., respectively.

Elijah Mallard will be the last individual to get his day started on Friday, racing in the 400-meter dash at 4:20 p.m.

On Saturday, members of the Orange will race in the 200-meter dash on beginning at at 1:10 p.m. when Rollins competes for the women. Thorogood will compete in the same event at 1:40 p.m. The meet closes at 2:10 p.m. with Mallard's section of the 200.

ORANGE ENTRIES:
The weekend starts for the SU women on Friday at 3:30 p.m. with Selma Anderson competing in the mile.

This is followed by 5:05 p.m. with the 3000-meter run where Savannah Roark, Emma Eastman, Madeline Heintz, Nyah Hernandez, Sarah Lawson, Beatriz Fernandes, Caroline Kirby, Bethany Steiner, Lauren Augutsyn, Olivia Shattuck, Sarah Cobb and Leah Futey are set to compete.

The men race on Saturday, with Benne Anderson, Ben Gabelman, Sam Lawler, Asher Danielson, Drew Zundell, Ruben Rojas-Betanzos, Solomon Holden-Betts, Julian Franjieh and Gabriel Planty all entered in sections beginning at 3:25 p.m.

The 3k begins at 5:20 p.m., with a host of Orange runners entered in that as well: Assah Harari, Connor Ackley, Ethan Wechsler, Sam Ricchuiti, Omar Alsaidi and Connell Alford will compete.
