Puck Drop
- Hitting the road this weekend for a two game set the Syracuse women's ice hockey team takes on Stonehill. Both games will be played at the Bridgewater Ice Arena. Puck drop is set for 5 p.m. Friday night and 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
- 'Cuse looks to bounce back this weekend following last weekend's shutout losses by #6 Minnesota Duluth.
- The Orange want to continue their dominance over the Skyhawks. Syracuse has a 3-0-0 all-time record over Stonehill since 2023.
- Both matches will be streamed on NEC Front Row with live stats available on stonehillskyhawks.com.
Drabyk Stellar in Collegiate Debut
- Syracuse freshman goaltender Ava Drabyk became the first freshman to start the season in goal for the Orange since the 2010-2011 season.Â
- In last weekend's two game set, Drabyk had 78 saves ranking her fifth in the nation in saves among goaltenders.
- Topping the charts for the Atlantic Hockey America league she leads the AHA in saves per game with 39.0. Her save percentage of .918 is best among freshmen in the AHA.
- The last freshman to start in a season opening game for Syracuse was Jenesica Drinkwater in 2010. Drinkwater had 15 saves in her debut.
O' Captain My Captain
- Prior to the 2025-26 season opener, head coach Britni Smith announced the team captains and assistant captains for the season.
- Senior Sami Gendron and junior Nea Tervonen earn the honor of team captain for this season. Both earning their first letters and will be wearing a C on their jersey.
- Maya D'Arcy, Heidi Knoll and Jackson Kinsler were selected as assistant captains. This is D'Arcy's and Knoll's second year serving as assistants. Kinsler earns the first letter of her career.

- Syracuse University continues to be a global brand, and that reputation stretches from the classrooms to the playing surfaces for Orange athletic programs.
