Syracuse (5-7-1, 1-6-1) embarks on its final road trip of the season when it heads to Durham, N.C., to face #7 Duke (9-3-1, 4-3-0), on Thursday, Oct. 23, at 7:00 p.m., at Koskinen Stadium. The clash features two of the premier scoring threats in the conference in Syracuse's Mia Klammer and Duke's Mia Minestrella.Â
The Syracuse-Duke Series
Duke owns a 7-0-1 advantage in the all-time series with Syracuse. The only draw in the series came in the first-ever matchup between the two teams on Sept. 22, 2013. This is the first meeting for the two squads since Sept. 16, 2022, when the Blue Devils defeated the Orange, 1-0.Â
Syracuse Status
The Orange enter the match following a narrow, 1-0 defeat at home versus Boston College, last Sunday.Â
Senior Shea Vanderbosch has started all 16 matches on the campaign, and has posted a goals against average of 1.29 and a save percentage of .796. Vanderbosch leads the ACC in saves per game (4.88) and is second in total saves (78). She also has a career-best five shutouts on the year, the most recent coming in the clean sheet against the Hurricanes.Â
Senior Mia Klammer has a squad-best seven goals and 16 points on this season. After scoring her seventh in the Miami win, she became the first Syracuse player since 2014 to net seven goals in a campaign. Graduate student Ashley Rauch has four goals and leads the team in assists with four.Â
Syracuse has received heavy minutes from its youthful defense, with all three back-line players averaging over 80 minutes a match. Sophomore Jasmine Nixon averages a squad-leading 87.7 minutes per game, with freshman Bree Bridges (87.6) and sophomore Natalie Magnotta (82.7) not far behind.
Duke Status
The Blue Devils last competed on Oct. 18, coming away victorious after a 3-2 win at Virginia Tech. Minestrella had a goal and an assist in the contest.Â
U.S. U-20 National Team member Kat Rader has started 11 of 12 matches for Duke and has eight goals, seven assists and a squad-best 23 points. Her 23 points are good for sixth-best in the ACC. 2025 Preseason All-ACC forward Minestrella has nine goals, four assists and 22 points. Her nine goals are tied for the seventh-most in the conference. Mia Oliaro is tied for second in the ACC with nine assists.Â
Sophomore Caroline Dysart has started 12 matches in goal for the Blue Devils (1.19 goals against average, .736 save percentage). She has recorded five shutouts on the year, tied for sixth-most in the ACC.Â

Important games await this week as conference play enters its closing stretch. A marquee matchup is scheduled for Thursday, when #11 Florida State travels to Charlottesville, Va., to take on #3 Virginia. #2 Stanford, the ACC standings leader, hosts SMU on Saturday.
