Wojcik, Levivier Excel in Day One of ITA Regionals

The Syracuse women's tennis team collected four wins on the first day of the ITA New England Regional Tournament. Monika Wojcik and Constance Levivier collected multiple wins in the singles contest to each earn their way to the Round of 16 in the qualifying bracket.
Wojcik faced Chang Ao of Massachusetts Amherst in the opening round of singles play, defeating her 7-5, 3-6, 10-4. Wojcik moved on to the Round of 32, collecting the 6-2, 6-2 win over St. Bonaventure's Sienna Smith.
In the Round of 64, Levivier challenged Rebecca Hess of Colgate, taking the match to three sets. Levivier walked away with the victory after defeating Hess in a 6(3)-7, 7-6(3), 6-3 battle. In the following round, Leviver was able to secure her spot to the Round of 16 after a 6-4, 6-2 win over Brown's Anne Moody.
The Orange are set to continue to the second day of match play. Doubles play will begin this Friday Oct. 10.
