SYRACUSE, New York – Syracuse comes in at No. 6 in the first regular-season polls by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) and KANE Media Top 25. The Orange opened the season with a 21-9 victory against UAlbany.

Syracuse is one of four ACC schools in the top 10 in both polls. Boston College is ranked No. 1 by both the coaches and media, while North Carolina is No. 3. Virginia is No. 8 in the coaches poll and No. 9 in the media rankings.

Three of the Orange's next four games are against teams ranked in this week's top 10. Syracuse faces No. 7 Maryland on Saturday in College Park and third-ranked North Carolina on Saturday, Feb. 22 in Chapel Hill. The Orange finish the month of February with a contest against No. 2 Northwestern on Feb. 25 in the JMA Wireless Dome.
