CHARLOTTE – Syracuse placed four members on the Women's Lacrosse Preseason All-ACC Team announced on Tuesday, Feb. 4. The group includes graduate student Emma Ward, senior Olivia Adamson, junior Emma Muchnick and sophomore Kaci Benoit. The Orange's four selections were the second-highest total for any school in the league.
Â
Ward recorded 81 points and a team-high 37 assists last season. She posted five or more points in six games and earned honorable mention All-America honors from Inside Lacrosse and US Lacrosse Magazine. In addition, Ward earned a spot on the ACC All-Tournament Team.
Â
Adamson posted career highs in goals (58), assists (25) and points (83) in 2024. She earned a spot on the IWLCA All-America Third Team and was selected to the All-Northeast Region and All-ACC First Team last season.
Â
Muchnick played in all 22 games a year for the Orange and recorded career highs in every statistical category. She finished the year with 27 points on 14 goals and 13 assists to go along with 15 ground balls and 20 draw controls. Muchnick was a member of the U.S. U20 squad that won a gold medal at last summer's World Championship.
Â
Benoit was voted to the ACC All-Freshman Team last season. She started every game on defense and helped the Orange hold their opponents to less than 10 goals in 10 different games. Benoit recorded 21 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers in her freshman campaign.
Â
Syracuse received one first-place vote and placed fourth in the preseason coaches' poll. Defending national champion Boston College received the remaining 11 first-place votes and is the preseason favorite. North Carolina was second, followed by Virginia and the Orange.
Â
The 2025 campaign gets underway on Friday, Feb. 7 when Syracuse hosts UAlbany at 1:30 p.m. in the JMA Wireless Dome. Season and individual tickets are on sale now at Cuse.com/tickets.
