
Syracuse Shuts Down RMU Power Play, Cruises to 4-1 Win

MOON TOWNSHIP, PA. - Syracuse University women's ice hockey dominated Robert Morris with a 4-1 road victory at the RMU Island Sports Center on Friday night, extending its winning streak to four, the team's longest run of the season.Â
Syracuse (11-20-0, 9-8-0 AHA) opened the scoring in the first period with Bryn Saarela finding the net off assists from Tatum White and Jackson Kinsler. White later added a goal of her own late in the first, set up by Saarela and Jessica Cheung.Â
In the second period, Nea Tervonen cashed in on the power play with help from Peyton Armstrong and Cheung. Charli Kettyle sealed the deal with a third-period insurance goal. The Orange rotated goaltenders, with Allie Kelley stopping 11 shots and Bella Gould making 17 saves.
Robert Morris (8-20-3, 2-13-12 AHA) got their lone goal from Mya Neugent, who was set up by Morgan Giannone and Shayne Desjardins. In net, Maggie Hatch stopped 22 shots, including five in the first, 14 in the second and three in the final period.

- Robert Morris responded at 10:46 when Neugent capitalized on a setup from Giannone and Desjardins, tying the game, 1-1.
- White restored Syracuse's lead just before the first intermission, finishing off a feed from Saarela and Cheung to put the Orange back in front.
- Midway through the second period, Tervonen extended the lead with a power-play goal, assisted by Armstrong and Cheung, making it 3-1.
- With just six seconds left in regulation, Charli Kettyle took advantage of open ice, slipping the puck past the Colonials' netminder to seal the 4-1 victory for the Orange.
