Tigers Secure Series with Game Two Win over Orange

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse softball team (19-10, 1-7 ACC) dropped a 10-0 decision in game two against Clemson (23-9, 5-3 ACC) on Saturday at Skytop Softball Stadium, as the Tigers clinched the series.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Tigers struck first in the top of the third inning with an RBI groundout but starting pitcher Julianna Verni limited Clemson to just one run until the fifth, when the Tigers added three runs on two hits, including a two-run home run.

Clemson added two runs in the top of the sixth before breaking the game open in the seventh with a three-run double and an RBI single, securing the 10-0 victory.

In the loss, Verni went five innings with five strikeouts, but gave up four runs on eight hits.

'Cuse concludes its series against Clemson tomorrow, March 23, at 12 p.m. ET at Skytop Softball Stadium. The contest will air live on ACC Network Extra.
