
Pointer Earns ACC Performer of the Week

Iaunia Pointer earned ACC Women's Track and Field Performer of the Week, after breaking a 24-year-old school record and posting the best time in the ACC through the first weekend of the outdoor season.
Pointer, making her 'Cuse debut after transferring from Southern Illinois, posted a career-best time of 23.28 seconds in the 200-meter dash. The time was not only the fastest in the ACC through the first weekend of outdoor competition, it also broke Alison Culley's school record of 23.33 seconds, which was set in 2001.
Pointer is tied for the ACC lead in the 200 with Miami's Alyssa Robinson. The duo rank sixth in the nation in the event so far.
She also was part of the 4x100-meter relay team at the USF Alumni Invitational, which turned in a time of 46.03 seconds.
