
Orange Secure Four Seed, Draw Notre Dame in ACC Tournament

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Syracuse University men's lacrosse team has secured the four seed for next week's ACC Men's Lacrosse Championship and will face top-seeded Notre Dame in the semifinal round.
The Orange and Fighting Irish will battle in the first semifinal on Friday, May 2 with a 5 p.m. opening faceoff at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. Information about the ACC Men's Lacrosse Tournament can be accessed on the league's championship site. The ACC Network will carry both semifinal games and Sunday's championship tilt.
No. 10/11 Syracuse (9-5, 2-2 ACC) has picked up four ranked victories this season, highlighted by a 14-9 victory over the No. 5 Fighting Irish at the Dome on April 5. Nine of Syracuse's 14 games this season came against ranked opponents, with the Orange also notching wins against No. 7 Johns Hopkins, No. 17 Towson and No. 20 Colgate.
Two-time defending national champion Notre Dame went 3-1 in ACC play to earn the top seed. North Carolina also went 3-1 to secure the second seed with Duke notching the third seed with a 2-2 conference record. The Tar Heels and Blue Devils will meet in Friday's second semifinal at 8 p.m.
The championship game is slated for a noon start on Sunday, May 4. The NCAA Tournament field will be announced later that day during a 9:30 p.m. selection show on ESPNU.
