COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – On the eve of the 2025 season, six Syracuse University field hockey student-athletes earned mention on the NFHCA Division I Preseason Watch List. The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced its annual Watchlist Thursday morning.
All-American graduate student Bo van Kempen, senior Lieke Leeggangers, junior Bo Madden, and freshmen Taylor Bigbie, Henni Nation, and Aubrey Turner were among those mentioned on the Watchlist.
Syracuse had the second-most student-athletes named to the NFHCA Watchlist among the nine ACC programs, tied with Virginia's six. North Carolina led the league with seven. Duke and Stanford had five each, followed by Wake (4), Boston College (3), Louisville (3), and California (1).
The Orange had the most freshmen student-athletes named to the Watchlist with Bigbie, Nation, and Turner. Stanford and Virginia were the only other ACC programs with multiple rookies named to the Watchlist.
No. 11 Syracuse opens the 2025 campaign on Friday with a 5 p.m. showdown against Lock Haven at J.S. Coyne Stadium. Opening weekend concludes on Sunday with a 1 p.m. game against Fairfield, which won the Northeast Conference last season.
All games at J.S. Coyne Stadium are free admission and this weekend's games will be carried on ACC Network Extra.
